YouTube & YouTube Music
Allowed with disclosureAI music policy · Platform
AI music can be uploaded and monetised, but creators must disclose realistic AI content — including AI music that's the main focus of a video — via the 'AI use' setting. Monetised channels must not be mass-produced, generic or repetitive. Music partners declare Fully/Partly/No Gen AI in metadata, and since 14 Oct 2026 YouTube Music shows labels on tracks created primarily with generative AI.
Key rules
- Disclose AI music that is the main focus of a video (YouTube Studio → AI use)
- Partner metadata: Fully Gen AI / Partly Gen AI / No Gen AI (AI mastering counts as No Gen AI)
- YouTube may use its own detection signals if you don't declare
- YPP: no mass-produced, generic or repetitive content
Content ID / fingerprinting
See the separate YouTube Content ID entry.
Ambient, meditation & sleep notes
The 'mass-produced / repetitive' monetisation rule is the main risk for long sleep/ambient videos — vary content and show human curation.
