Spotify
AllowedAI music policy · Platform
AI-made music delivered via a distributor is allowed, but Spotify removes unauthorised voice clones, filters spam (mass uploads, duplicates, very short tracks) and keeps 'slop' out of recommendations. Artists whose public identity is an AI-generated photorealistic person get an 'AI Persona' badge and are excluded from editorial and algorithmic recommendations. AI Credits (via your distributor) let you disclose how AI was used.
Key rules
- Voice clones without permission are removed
- Spam tactics (mass uploads, duplicates, artificially short tracks, SEO manipulation) are filtered
- AI Persona badge for photorealistic AI artist identities → no editorial/personalised recommendations
- AI Credits shown in Song Credits when your distributor supports them
Ambient, meditation & sleep notes
Using AI tools doesn't trigger the AI Persona badge if your profile is a real person or a stage name/fictional character that isn't a photorealistic AI human — avoid AI-generated 'human' profile photos. Spotify says 50M+ slop/spam tracks were pulled from recommendations this year.
